Lizzie succumbed to Gregory’s tugs and lay back down. Bix wondered if this last of their four children might, with his wife’s complicity, prolong his infancy into adulthood. He stretched out beside the two of them and peered anxiously into her eyes.

No doubt this novel is a truly original and well informed creation. Its tremendous story make this novel more interesting. n extremely powerful story. This theme, which has implications far beyond the obvious racial parallel, is skillfully handled. Got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew my mind. It managed to surpass my high expectations and be nothing at all like I expected.
