The Golden Season is one of the standout stories comes toward the end of the collection. True to the collection’s title, each piece exhibits a strong, clearly defined voice, delivered in a range of forms. The stories we tell ourselves are not formed in a vacuum, but they are also not set in stone; these writers illustrate that stories are meant to be interrogated, and truths are meant to be told.
Editorial View Of The Golden Season
As for his stance on women, Steve used to believe their purpose in life was to become wives and mothers. But when his wife left him, he realized that marriage wasn’t such a certainty after all. That even he could become part of the fifty percent and that everything could fall apart in an instant (though, of course, his wife would say that the instances had been accumulating for half a decade). He never paid much attention to Emmy’s education before the divorce, thinking all she had to do was get into a good-enough college that would allow her to meet a smart-enough boy who would marry her and provide her with a stable-enough life. Once he realized that no one was safe from the fallibility of marriage, though, he made sure Emmy was doing everything in her power to be financially independent.
“No, no, no,” he said during her senior year of high school. “Just ’cause you’re smart enough to get into those liberal artsy East Coast fancy-pants schools doesn’t mean you’re gonna go. You wanna pay off loans all your life for a degree in English? You’re already fluent in the damn language! What more is there to know? No. You’ll take the full ride at Walker. Stay in Texas. Major in business. You know they got one of the best business schools in the country? They’re practically handing you money. I’ll tell you what…”It was a departure from the pre-divorce college discussion, which involved a couple of grunts and shrugs and a wherever you get in is good enough for me.So Emmy knew her father was capable of change, of allowing his beliefs to adapt, evolve. But she also knew that there was a limit. Every branch can bend itself a bit, but try and push it too far and it will snap.
The Golden Season Summary
A beautiful novel with unique and majestic story. The beauty of this novel is that it contains numerous short stories that entertain the reader from beginning till the last word of the novel. All the characters of the novel are unique and refreshing.. It’s a unique novel in numerous ways, and yet, of course, its themes are universal. No doubt this novel is a truly original and well informed creation. Its tremendous story make this novel more interesting. n extremely powerful story. This theme, which has implications far beyond the obvious racial parallel, is skillfully handled. Got the chills so many times toward the end of this book. It completely blew my mind. It managed to surpass my high expectations and be nothing at all like I expected.
